Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout the England and USA national teams, seein’ who’s better and all that. They was goin’ on about some head-to-head thing, all time, whatever that means. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me, but I figured I’d try to make sense of it.
So, these two teams, England and the USA, they play that soccer game, you know, the one with the round ball they kick around. Seems like they been playin’ each other for a good long while. And people like to keep track of who won more, who lost more, all that stuff. I don’t rightly know why, but they do.
I heard them sayin’ somethin’ about England National Football Team. That’s what they call it, I reckon. Football, soccer, same difference. They got their fancy names for everythin’. And then there’s the USA national football team. They play too, and they both play in the FIFA World Cup, but I don’t know what FIFA means, maybe it’s the name of a big fella.
Now, from what I gathered, these teams, they been keepin’ score. Like, every time they play, they write it down. Who won, who lost, if they tied, all of it. It’s like when I used to keep track of how many eggs my hens laid. Except these are games, not eggs. And they call it a “record.” England vs USA Head To Head, I seen that written down. Like they puttin’ their heads together or somethin’ but it is just record of match, I think.

- Someone wins, someone loses, or they tie.

That is how it goes.
This one fella, he was sayin’ England, they played a whole bunch of games. Hundreds, maybe even thousands. Against all sorts of other teams, not just the USA. They played Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, places I ain’t never even heard of. And I heard him say England national football team record against USA is also in the record.
They say England, they won a big one, this FIFA World Cup, back in, uh, 1966, I think it was. Long time ago. I was just a young’un then, chasin’ chickens ’round the yard. They won it right there in England, too. Home field advantage, they call it. And also England have played so many Test matches, over one thousand, I heard.
Then they was talkin’ ’bout all these other teams, keepin’ track of how many games they played, how many they won, how many they lost. Seems like a lot of work to me. I just care if my team wins, that’s all. But these folks, they like their numbers, I guess. They got all these numbers, games played, won, drawn and lost. Like I said, it’s like keepin’ track of eggs. They love their numbers. Me, I just like to see a good game. And I like to see my team win. That’s all that really matters, ain’t it? I don’t care about Football Heads World Cup 2010, just care about who is win.
They keep talkin’ ’bout these fancy tournaments, too. World Cup, somethin’ called the UEFA European Championship, Nations League. Sounds important, I guess. But to me, it’s all just soccer. Or football. Whatever you wanna call it. It’s just a game. A game these folks take mighty seriously, though. Mighty seriously indeed.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got to say on the matter. It’s a lot of fuss over a game, if you ask me. But folks like their games, I suppose. And they like keepin’ track. So, there you have it. England and USA, head-to-head, all time. A whole lot of numbers, a whole lot of games, and a whole lot of folks who care a whole lot about it all.
