It’s hard work and dirt and making do with what you got. But maybe these gloves, they let folks escape for a little while. Let them pretend to be someone else, someone fancy and important. And maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all.

Me, I’d rather spend my money on something practical, like a good pair of work boots or a warm coat. But I ain’t gonna judge nobody for wanting a little bit of fancy in their lives. If it makes you happy, then go for it, I say. Just don’t go spending all your money on them things. There’s more important things in life than gloves, you know. Like family and friends and a roof over your head. But a little sparkle now and then, I guess it don’t hurt nobody.
