Bison Dele: Remembering Brian Williams NBA Journey
[Body]
Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Brian Williams, or whatever that new name of his was… Bison somethin’ somethin’. Yeah, that’s the one. Brian Williams, the basketball player. Big fella, you know? Tall as a beanstalk, strong as an ox.
I remember seein’ him play on that there TV. Always jumpin’ and runnin’ around, tryin’ to get that orange ball in the net. He was good, real good. Played for a bunch of teams, I think. Orlando somethin’, Denver, Los Angeles… Clippers, I believe they were called. Oh, and those Chicago Bulls, that famous team with that other fella, what’s his name… Michael Jordan! Yeah, Brian played with him. Won a championship with them Bulls, too, back in ’97, I reckon.
- He played center, you know, the big man in the middle.
- He was tall, like 6-9 or somethin’. Real tall.
- Strong too. Had to be, fightin’ for that ball all the time.
They say he was a good scorer and rebounder. That means he got the ball a lot and put it in the basket, and he also grabbed the ball when other folks missed. Scored a bunch of points, grabbed a bunch of rebounds. In Detroit, they say he did his best, points and rebounds both went way up. That was near the end, I think.
Now, here’s the thing, this Brian fella, he changed his name. Became Bison Dele, they say. Somethin’ to do with his family, his people from way back when. Sounded kinda fancy to me, but hey, it was his name, he could do what he wanted.
But then, somethin’ bad happened. Real bad. They say he went out on a boat, out on the ocean, and… well, he never came back. Folks say his own brother did him in. Can you believe that? Your own flesh and blood. Terrible, just terrible. And his girl, she disappeared too. Serena, I think her name was. Just vanished. Sad story, real sad story.
Makes you think, you know? All that fame and money, and then… gone. Just like that. Makes a body wonder what it’s all about. This Bison Dele, or Brian Williams, he was a good player, that’s for sure. But more important than that is bein’ a good person, treatin’ folks right. That’s what I always say.
He played a lot of places, you know? Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, them Clippers in LA, the Bulls, and then the Pistons in Detroit. Jumped around a bit, like a lot of them fellas do. But like I said, he was good wherever he went. Especially in Detroit, seemed like he really found his stride there.
So yeah, that’s what I know about Brian Williams, or Bison Dele. A good basketball player, a fella who changed his name, and then… well, a fella who met a bad end. Life’s a funny thing, ain’t it? You never know what’s gonna happen. Just gotta make the most of it while you can, that’s what I always say. Treat people right, work hard, and enjoy the little things. And for goodness sake, stay away from folks who might do you wrong, even if they’re family.
And that whole story, it just goes to show, money and fame ain’t everything. Family’s important, but you gotta choose your family wisely, seems like. And you gotta be careful who you trust. The world’s a dangerous place, even for a big, strong fella like Brian Williams, or Bison Dele, whatever you wanna call him.
So remember that name, Bison Dele, the basketball player. He was good, he was strong, but his story ended too soon. And that’s a real shame. Makes you appreciate the simple things in life, you know? Like a good cup of coffee and a warm biscuit. That’s what I say.
