Dylan Metoyer at Sierra Canyon: The Rising Stars Journey
Well, let me tell ya about this young fella, Dylan Metoyer. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout him and this Sierra Canyon place. Sounds fancy, huh? Never been there myself, mind you. Too busy feedin’ the chickens and whatnot.
So, who is this Dylan Metoyer fella? Seems like he’s one of them basketball playin’ boys. You know, the kind that run around dribblin’ and throwin’ balls in a hoop. Sierra Canyon, that’s where he plays, or played, I reckon. Heard it’s a high school. One of them high-falutin’ ones, I bet.

Now, they say he was a guard. That means he’s gotta be quick, I figure. Like a fox chasin’ a rabbit, only with a basketball. Keeps them other fellas from scorin’, and helps his own team get the points. That’s the gist of it, ain’t it?
- He’s good at basketball.
- He went to a school called Sierra Canyon.
- He played guard.
Heard his daddy played ball too. Guy Williams, they call him. Played for Washington State, wherever that is. Must be one of them big city places. Anyways, seems like this basketball thing runs in the family. Like my grandma’s apple pie recipe, passed down from generation to generation.
Sierra Canyon Trailblazers, that’s his team. Sounds like a bunch of pioneers, don’t it? Explorin’ new territory and all that. Only, instead of wagon trains, they got basketballs. And instead of gold, they’re lookin’ for wins. That’s what I gather, anyhow.
They say Dylan helped his team get “national recognition.” That means folks all over the country heard about ’em. Must’ve been pretty darn good, that team. Probably won a lot of games. Good for them, I say. Hard work pays off, that’s what my old pappy used to tell me.
This Dylan fella, he’s part of the Class of 2023. That means he graduated, I guess. Moved on to bigger and better things, maybe. College, maybe. Or maybe he’s playin’ ball somewhere else. Who knows? Kids these days, they grow up so fast. One minute they’re chasin’ chickens in the yard, the next they’re dribblin’ basketballs on national TV.
You can watch his “highlights” on somethin’ called Hudl. Sounds like a contraption to me. Probably one of them newfangled internet things. My grandson’s always fiddlin’ with that stuff. Me, I prefer watchin’ the birds fly and the grass grow. It’s more peaceful that way.
They also made a show about them Sierra Canyon kids. “Uninterrupted’s Top Class” they called it. The “Life and Times” of the Trailblazers. Sounds like a soap opera, if you ask me. All drama and whatnot. But I guess people like watchin’ that kinda thing. Me, I’ll stick to my stories ’round the fire. They’re more real, you know?
So, what’s the big deal about Dylan Metoyer? Well, he’s a good basketball player from a fancy school. His daddy played ball too. And he helped his team get famous. That’s about it, as far as I can tell. He’s just a young fella tryin’ to make his way in the world, like the rest of us. Only he’s doin’ it with a basketball in his hands.

Now, I don’t know much about basketball, but I know a thing or two about hard work and dedication. And it sounds like this Dylan Metoyer fella has got plenty of both. So, I wish him all the best. May he keep on dribblin’ and scorin’ and makin’ his mama proud. And maybe one day, he’ll come visit our little town. We could sure use a good basketball player on our team. Even though our team is just a bunch of old fellas playin’ horse shoes in the park.
In short, this Dylan Metoyer is a basketball player, a guard to be exact. He played for Sierra Canyon High School and his dad is a former Washington State player. He seems like a pretty good player, helped his team get some fame, and has some videos and even a show appearance under his belt. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
