Getting to Know Shonnice Vaughn: A Quick Look
Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Shonnice Vaughn gal. I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but I heard some things and seen some things on the internet, you know, that thingamajig with all the news and whatnots.
First off, they say this Shonnice was a basketball player. Yep, played for some college team, Virginia State University, they say. Seems like she was pretty good too, scorin’ points and grabbin’ rebounds. Twenty-one points and ten rebounds in one game! That’s a lot, even for a big fella, let alone a gal. They called her a “sophomore guard,” whatever that means. Sounded fancy though.

But then, somethin’ happened. She ain’t on the team no more. Poof! Gone like a fart in the wind. Don’t know why exactly. Maybe she got tired of runnin’ up and down that court. Or maybe, just maybe, she got into a bit of trouble.
- They say she was speedin’. Don’t know how fast, but fast enough for the police to get their britches in a twist.
- And then, there’s this talk about a weapon. A “concealed weapon” they called it. Now, I ain’t sure what kind of weapon it was, a gun maybe? Or maybe just a big ol’ knife. But they charged her for it, that’s for sure.
So, this Shonnice gal, she went from basketball star to… well, I don’t rightly know. The law got involved, that’s all I know. “After careful deliberation,” they say, they charged her. Sounds serious, don’t it? Makes you wonder what went wrong.
They also mentioned somethin’ about “NJCAA.” Don’t know what that is, maybe another basketball thing? Seems like she played there too, before Virginia State, maybe? It’s all a bit confusing to an old woman like me. All these letters and numbers, they make my head spin.
But here’s the thing, this Shonnice, she was doin’ somethin’ good, playin’ basketball, representin’ her school. And then, boom! Things went south. Makes you think, don’t it? Life can change in a heartbeat. One minute you’re shootin’ hoops, the next you’re in trouble with the law.
Now, I ain’t judgin’ nobody. We all make mistakes, Lord knows I’ve made my fair share. But it’s a shame to see a young person with talent get sidetracked like that. Hope she gets herself straightened out. Hope she learns from this whole mess. Life’s too short to be wastin’ it on speedin’ and carryin’ weapons, or whatever else she got herself into. She shoulda stuck to basketball, seems like she was good at it.
I heard they had a good season, that team she was on, the Trojans. Twenty-two wins and eight losses. That’s pretty darn good, if you ask me. Wonder if they missed her when she was gone? Probably did. A good player is hard to replace, you know? Like a good hen, lays them eggs regular, you sure miss her when she’s gone.
Anyways, that’s all I know about this Shonnice Vaughn. A basketball player who got into some trouble. Hope she gets back on the right track. And I hope she learns to slow down and leave them weapons at home. That’s my two cents, for what it’s worth.
