Is Jamarion Sharp a Good NBA Prospect? Tankathon Insights

Alright, so, let’s yak about this Jamarion Sharp fella, the one they’re all buzzin’ about in that basketball world. You know, the tall drink of water? He’s like, really, really tall. Taller than anyone I ever seen, and I seen a lot in my days, let me tell ya.

They say he didn’t get picked in that NBA draft thingy, the one where all them young fellas in shorts runnin’ around tryin’ to get a job playin’ ball. But, this Jamarion, he didn’t let that get him down, no sir. He went and joined up with them Dallas Mavericks for somethin’ called the Summer League. Sounds hot, if you ask me. Summer and runnin’? I’d rather sit on the porch with a glass of iced tea, but these young’uns, they got energy to burn.

Now, from what I hear, this boy is a blockin’ machine. Like a brick wall standin’ under the basket. Nobody gets past him, they say. He’s swattin’ balls left and right, sendin’ ’em flyin’ back where they came from. Folks are callin’ him one of the best shot blockers in college, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. I reckon it’s that height of his, makes it easy to reach up and grab them balls right outta the air. They say he’s got arms long as a country road, wingspan they call it, 7’8″. Imagine that! He could probably reach the top shelf without even tryin’. Must be nice.

And he ain’t just standin’ there like a statue, neither. This Jamarion, he can move. For a fella that tall, he’s quick on his feet. Faster than that other tall fella, what’s his name? Wemby? Yeah, they say Jamarion’s faster. Hard to believe, but that’s what they say. He’s runnin’ and jumpin’, and mostly dunkin’ that ball. Dunks are easy, I guess, when you’re that tall. Just gotta reach up and drop it in.

Now, they say he ain’t got all the fancy moves on offense, not yet anyways. He’s still learnin’, like a young calf tryin’ to find its legs. But even so, he knows how to play with his teammates. He’s good at them pick and roll things, where he sets a screen for his teammate and then rolls to the basket. Smart player, even if he ain’t got all the tricks yet.

Seems like the Mavericks, they saw somethin’ special in this boy, even if them other teams didn’t. They went and gave him a contract, a one-year deal. That means he gets to play with the big boys now, show ’em what he can do. He’s got a chance to prove himself, show them all they made a mistake not pickin’ him in the draft. Good for him, I say. Always rootin’ for the underdog, that’s me.

Folks are talkin’ about how Jamarion’s gonna be a towerin’ presence for the Mavericks. Sounds scary, don’t it? Like a giant walkin’ among men. But that’s what they want, I guess. Someone to protect the basket, grab them rebounds, and maybe dunk a few balls while he’s at it. He played for Mississippi before, and he was real good there, winnin’ awards and such. Defensive Player of the Year, they called him. Twice! That means he’s good at stoppin’ the other team from scorin’, which is important, I reckon.

So, there you have it. The lowdown on this Jamarion Sharp fella. He’s tall, he’s fast, he blocks shots, and he’s got a chance to make it big in the NBA. I’ll be watchin’ him, seein’ if he can live up to all the hype. Maybe he’ll be the next big thing, maybe he won’t.
