Smith-Njigba McMillan: What to Expect | Can These Two Receivers Lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl Championship?

Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this football thing, Smith-Njigba and McMillan. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? These young fellas, they run around and catch a ball, like kids playin’ in the yard. But they get paid good money for it! Lord, in my day, we worked hard for our keep.

This Smith-Njigba fella, he plays for the Seattle Seahawks. Sounds like a bird to me. Hawks. We got hawks back home, always circlin’, lookin’ for a meal. Maybe that’s what this team does, always lookin’ for a win, you know? They play good, I guess, people shoutin’ their names and all, that Jaxon Smith-Njigba. They say he’s been playin’ real good lately, like a chicken with its head cut off, always runnin’, always movin’, like he done stung himself some way. These football fellas, they got funny names, huh?

Smith-Njigba McMillan: What to Expect | Can These Two Receivers Lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl Championship?

They say he’s a “wide receiver.” What in tarnation is that? Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to get radio signals on the farm, back in my day. But I reckon it means he catches the ball when it’s thrown to him. And that Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he must be good at it, ’cause everyone’s talkin’ ’bout him. He’s one of the Seattle Seahawks, that’s the team. They wear blue and green, like a peacock, all showy. And I guess they got other players too. Maybe it is a team effort, like harvest time, you know, everyone working together, just like me and my old man, back in the day, when we were puttin’ up hay. One person can’t do it all, you know?

And then there’s this other one, McMillan. Don’t know much about him, but folks are comparin’ him to Smith-Njigba. Must be another one of them football players, runnin’ and jumpin’. Maybe they’re friends, you know, like two peas in a pod, both playin’ this football game. They probably went to the same school. This Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he went to some place called Ohio State, you hear? Sounds fancy, and I don’t know what all that is about. I bet they didn’t teach him nothin’ ’bout real work, like sloppin’ hogs or milkin’ cows. But maybe they taught him how to catch that ball real good. This is what you need these days, I guess. Maybe I should have paid more attention to them ball games.

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba, they say he’s a “sophomore.” Sounds like a fancy word for a young’un.
  • He’s playin’ good, they say, “flashed second-year growth.” Like a plant sproutin’ up in the spring, gettin’ bigger and stronger.
  • This Seattle Seahawks team, they won somethin’ called a “Super Bowl” once. Must be a big deal, like winnin’ the blue ribbon at the county fair.

These football players, they have it easy, I reckon. Runnin’ around, gettin’ all that attention. Back in my day, we worked from sunup to sundown, no time for games. But I guess times change. Maybe these young’uns, like Smith-Njigba and McMillan, maybe they’re onto somethin’. Maybe this football thing is the new way. All I know is they are playin’ for Seattle Seahawks, and they are doin’ well, just like my old Bessie, my prize-winning cow.

This Jaxon Smith-Njigba fella, people wonder if he is better than McMillan, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that, it’s all mumbo jumbo to me. But he’s doin’ good for the Seattle Seahawks, that’s what matters, I reckon. They got another fella there, too. I think I heard it’s Geno Smith, but he done got hurt. His knee or somethin’. Hope he gets better soon. Can’t play football with a bum knee, can ya? It is like tryin’ to plow a field with a lame mule. Ain’t gonna work. Football, they say it’s a tough game. They run into each other like billy goats buttin’ heads. No wonder they get hurt. The team got some new big shot, name of Mike Macdonald, hope he knows what he is doin’.

Well, I gotta go. Chickens need feedin’, and the garden needs tendin’. But you young’uns keep an eye on these football fellas, Smith-Njigba and McMillan, and them Seattle Seahawks, they call ’em. I guess it is a real big deal, this game, but I still don’t fully understand it all, but they sure got some funny names. Maybe one day I’ll figure it all out. But for now, I got work to do. This farm ain’t gonna run itself, you know. Life is simple, if you keep your nose to the grindstone, like me and my old man always said. Work hard, that’s the only thing that matters, not like these young’uns, runnin’ after some ball. But hey, who am I to judge, right? Each to their own, like my old granny used to say. This Jaxon Smith-Njigba, though, they all say he’s the real deal.
