Veterans Day 2024 Plans: Is Najee Harris Sitting Out? Read This!

Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz lately about Veterans Day 2024, and it got me thinking about Najee Harris. I mean, the guy’s a beast on the field, but will he be sitting out for Veterans Day? I had to find out, so I started digging.

First, I checked out what the big names were saying. I saw that President Joe Biden was really emphasizing the importance of Veterans Day. He made a speech, thanking veterans for their service and all that. It’s a big deal, you know? It got me thinking about how the NFL might handle it.

Then, I dove into the whole Veterans Day deals and freebies thing. It seems like a bunch of places offer discounts and free meals for veterans. I figured that if businesses were doing all this, maybe the NFL would have some special plans too. Maybe they’d encourage players to participate in events or something.

Next, I went straight to the source — well, sort of. I looked up when Veterans Day actually is. Turns out, it’s on Monday, November 11th, 2024, at 1:00 PM EST. Now, that’s during the NFL season, so games will be happening. I tried to find out if the Steelers had a game scheduled for that day, but I couldn’t find a schedule that far out.

I also tried to find any statements from the NFL or the Steelers about Veterans Day. I read that Biden was going to make an announcement about delivering more benefits and healthcare to veterans. But nothing specific about players sitting out games. It seems more about recognizing and honoring veterans, which is great, but it didn’t really answer my question about Najee.

So, after all that searching, here’s where I landed. There’s no official word on whether Najee Harris will be sitting out for Veterans Day 2024. It seems unlikely that he would sit out a regular season game just for that. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if he, and other players, find ways to honor veterans that day, maybe by wearing special gear or participating in events off the field.

I’ll keep my eyes open and update you guys if I hear anything new. This whole thing really made me appreciate Veterans Day even more, though. It’s important to remember and honor those who have served.
