Vintage Penske Racing Team: Remembering the Champions and Cars
Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… vintage Penske racing, yeah, that’s it. Don’t know much about fancy racin’, but I seen some cars go fast, real fast, like a chicken chasin’ a bug on a hot summer day.
So, this Penske fella, he had a team, I reckon. A bunch of fellas drivin’ cars, goin’ round and round. They say he started way back when, like, in the seventies? That’s a long time ago, even before my old mule, Bess, was born. They called it…Formula One, somethin’ like that. Sounds important, must be a big deal.

- They built their own cars, imagine that! Not like my old pickup, that’s for sure.
- They raced all over, not just in one place. Must’ve seen a lot of dirt, just like my boots after a day in the fields.
- And they won! Lots of times, from what I hear. Folks like winners, reminds me of the time I won the pie-eatin’ contest at the county fair.
Penske, he didn’t just do that Formula One thing, though. He did all sorts of racin’, seems like. Indycar, NASCAR, all them big names. I tell you, it’s hard to keep track. It’s like tryin’ to count all the stars in the sky.
Now, they got these fancy cars, these vintage Penske race cars, sittin’ in some museum or somethin’. People go and look at ’em, like they’re some kinda holy relics. Shiny paint, big engines, all them sponsor stickers. Looks pretty, I guess, but I bet they ain’t as comfy as my old rockin’ chair.
They got trophies too, lots of ’em. Big shiny things, probably heavy as a sack of potatoes. Shows how good they were, I reckon. Penske and his team, they was somethin’ special. Kinda like my prize-winning pumpkin, the biggest one in the county, three years runnin’!
Forty years, that’s how long they was winnin’, or so they say. That’s a long time to be doin’ anything, let alone racin’ cars. Must’ve taken a lot of grit, a lot of hard work. Just like farmin’, you gotta keep at it, rain or shine. And Penske, he sure kept at it. A real go-getter, that fella.
So, this vintage Penske racin’ stuff, it’s about history, about winnin’, about fast cars and dedicated folks. It’s somethin’ people remember, somethin’ they care about. Kinda like how I remember my grandma’s biscuits, best darn biscuits in the whole world. You don’t forget good things, you just don’t.
They talk about this Penske legacy, like it’s some kinda treasure. And maybe it is, in a way. It shows what you can do when you put your mind to it, when you work hard and don’t give up. Even if it’s just goin’ round and round in a circle, real fast. It’s somethin’ to be proud of, that’s for sure. Like my grandbabies, I’m proud of them every single day.
So, if you ever get a chance to see them vintage Penske cars, go ahead and take a look. You might not understand all the fancy stuff, but you’ll see somethin’ special. You’ll see a piece of history, a piece of somethin’ real. And that’s worth somethin’, in this crazy world.
