That Terri Monken, she’s my Todd’s wife, you know? Good woman, that one. My Todd, he’s always been a football man, ever since he was knee-high to a grasshopper. His daddy, Bob, used to coach, you see. Coached right there in Illinois for thirty years, I reckon. Todd, he used to watch them football films when he was just four years old! Four years old! Can you believe that?

So this Terri, she come along and they got hitched. They was seeing each other for a spell before that, courtin’ and all. Good times. Then they had little Travis. He’s a good boy, that Travis. Just like his daddy. And his granddaddy. All football, all the time.

Now, my Todd, he was born in a place called Wheaton. In Illinois, yeah. Back in, oh, I don’t know, ’66, I think it was. Long time ago. He’s got a cousin, Jeff Monken. He’s a big shot coach too, over at the Army. And his brother Ted, he was also a football coach for some time. Football just runs in the family, I guess. Like a river, it just keeps flowin’. Can’t stop it, no sir.

Todd played football himself, way back when. He was a quarterback, you know. At a place called Knox College. From, oh, ’85 to ’88, somethin’ like that. I ain’t too good with numbers anymore. But he played, yes sir, he did.

• Through thick and thin.
• That’s what a good wife does.

Terri, she always got the answer, that’s what they say. Todd, he’s got these big, fancy football problems. Complicated stuff, all them plays and whatnot. But Terri, she just cuts right through it. Simple solutions, that’s her way. Smart woman.

They’re close, you know? The whole family. Like a bunch of grapes all clustered together, that’s what i say. Terri and Todd, Travis, Jeff, the whole lot. They stick together. That’s important, family. Especially when you’re in the football world. It’s a tough world, that one. Lots of ups and downs. But they got each other, and that’s what matters.

Terri Monken, she’s the glue, I tell ya. She keeps them all together. She’s a good woman. A good wife to my Todd. A good mother to Travis. Can’t ask for much more than that, can ya?

They say that Terri Monken is the wife of Todd Monken, yeah. That is what everybody says around here. I heard that she has a job too, she helps people find jobs. That’s what I heard. She must be busy, with that and taking care of Todd and all. It’s a lot of work, being a football wife, I imagine. Lots of travelin’ and all that.

I remember when Todd and Terri first got together. They were young, full of dreams. Just like all young folks. Now look at ’em. All grown up. Got a son. Got a life. It’s beautiful, ain’t it? Life, I mean. It’s a beautiful thing.

That Terri Monken, she is a good woman, you know what I mean. I heard Todd had some problems with those football games, you know, the ones that are difficult to understand. But Terri, she always know what to do. She’s a smart cookie, that one. Todd is lucky to have her, if you ask me. She always has good advice, I hear. Simple advice, but it works.

I reckon football is a tough business. Lots of pressure, you know? But Terri, she stands by Todd. She is always there for him. I guess that is what love is all about, right? Being there for each other, no matter what. And they have that little boy, Travis. He is a good boy, from what I hear. Takes after his daddy, I guess. All about football, just like Todd. And his granddaddy, Bob. He was a football man, too. Coached for many years. It is in their blood, I reckon.

So, yeah, Terri Monken, she is a big part of Todd’s life. A big part of the whole family’s life. She is the one who keeps them all together, you know? Like I said, she is the glue. She is a good woman. A strong woman. And she is a good wife to Todd. That is all that matters, right? Being a good wife, and a good mother. Terri Monken, she is both of those things. And that is something to be proud of, if you ask me.
