Whats the UFC 301 Purse? See the Fighters Earnings
Alright, let’s talk about this UFC 301 money thing, the “purse” they call it. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I hear things, you know? People talk.
So, this UFC 301, it happened in Rio, that place in Brazil, right? Lots of fighting, lots of sweating, and I guess, lots of money changing hands. Now, how much exactly? That’s the big question, ain’t it?

They got this fella, Pantoja, they call him “The Cannibal.” Sounds scary, huh? Well, scary or not, they say he’s gonna make more than $750,000. That’s a whole lotta money! More than I ever seen in my life, that’s for sure.
And then there’s this other guy, Erceg. He ain’t supposed to make as much as Pantoja, but still, $200,000 is nothin’ to sneeze at. That’s a good payday for him, they say it’s the most he ever got. Good for him, I say. Everyone’s gotta eat, right?
- Big Names, Big Bucks
Then you got the big names, like Jose Aldo. He’s been around a while, this fella. They reckon he’s gonna get around $550,000. That’s more than most folks make in a lifetime, I tell ya. And Anthony Smith, another one, they say he might get $250,000. These fellas are rollin’ in it, seems like.
But it ain’t all big money, you know. Some of them young fellas, just starting out, they don’t get so much. It’s like this:
- If you only fought one to three times, you get $4,000. That ain’t much, but it’s a start, I guess.
- Fight four or five times, you get $4,500. A little bit more.
- Six to ten fights, you’re lookin’ at $6,000. Still not a fortune.
- Eleven to fifteen fights, you get $11,000. Now we’re talkin’ a bit more serious money.
- Sixteen to twenty fights, they give you $16,000. That’s decent.
- And if you fought twenty-one times or more, you get $21,000. That’s pretty good, considerin’.
And if you’re a champion, well, that’s a whole different story. They get $42,000 just for showin’ up, and if you’re challengin’ for the title, you get $32,000. It pays to be the best, I reckon.
Now, they say most of these fighters, they make between $10,000 and $50,000 a fight. That’s a pretty big range, ain’t it? Guess it depends on how good you are, how popular you are, and how much the UFC likes ya. They got the money, they decide who gets what, that’s how it goes, I figure.
Some folks say there are different levels, like low, medium, and high. The low-level guys, they get between $10,000 and $30,000. The high-level guys, the champions and the superstars, they can make anywhere from $500,000 to $3,000,000. Can you imagine? Three million dollars! That’s more money than the whole town I come from has ever seen!
But see, they don’t just give the money away. You gotta fight for it. You gotta train hard, you gotta get punched in the face, you gotta bleed, you gotta sweat. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. These boys earn every penny, even the ones who are gettin’ millions.

I hear tell they were still waitin’ on the official numbers for UFC 301 when I was hearin’ about it. They gotta count all the beans, I guess. But those numbers I told you, those are the estimates, what people are sayin’. It’ll be interesting to see the real numbers when they come out, see how close everyone was.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about the UFC 301 purse, or at least what I heard tell. It’s a lot of money, that’s for sure. Enough to make your head spin. But them fighters, they deserve it. They put their bodies on the line, they entertain us, and they get paid for it. That’s the way it works, I guess. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about money makes me hungry.
And don’t forget UFC 301 it was in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro to be exact. A lot of people were excited, seems like. They love their fighting down there, same as they do everywhere else, I reckon.
So whether it’s Pantoja, Erceg, Aldo or some other fella, they all gettin’ a piece of the pie. Some get bigger slices than others, sure, but that’s life, ain’t it?
Anyway, I hope that explains it all good enough for ya. It’s a complicated business, this fightin’ and money thing. But at the end of the day, it’s all about who’s the toughest and who can bring in the most eyeballs. And that, my friend, is what determines how big that purse is gonna be.
